Fort Worth · Local search
Local SEO in Fort Worth.
Three businesses appear in the map pack. Everyone else is below the fold, and most people never scroll. This is the work that decides which group you're in — and an honest account of how much of it is inside anyone's control.
The part nobody tells you: proximity
Local rankings are driven largely by three things — relevance, distance and prominence. Distance is the one most agencies quietly avoid discussing, because it cannot be sold as a service.
If your shop is in Fort Worth and someone searches from Frisco, you are unlikely to appear no matter how good your SEO is. Results shift as the searcher moves. This is why a business can rank first from its own parking lot and be invisible four miles away, and why "we're number one" screenshots are close to meaningless without knowing where they were taken.
What follows from that is practical: the goal is to win the area you can actually serve profitably, not a city-wide vanity position. That is a smaller, more achievable, more valuable target.
What we work on
- Google Business Profile. Correct primary category — the single most commonly wrong setting — plus services, hours, attributes, photos and posts. Miscategorisation alone can keep a business out of results it should win.
- On-page relevance. Titles, headings and body copy that state the actual service and the actual area, written for a person rather than assembled from keywords.
- Service and area pages. A genuine page for a genuine service in a genuine area. Not forty near-identical pages with the city name swapped, which Google treats as doorway pages and which can trigger a manual penalty.
- Technical fundamentals. Crawlability, indexation, canonicals, structured data, mobile performance. Unglamorous, and frequently where the actual problem is.
- Reviews. A repeatable way to ask, and a habit of responding. Volume and recency both count, and an unanswered profile reads as a closed business.
- Consistent business details. Name, address and phone matching across the profile, the site and the major directories.
What we won't do
We don't buy links, build private blog networks, spin content, create fake review profiles, or generate hundreds of location pages. These tactics can work briefly and then cost you the rankings you had, plus the time it takes to recover.
We also won't promise a position. Anyone quoting you a guaranteed ranking is either misinformed or counting on you not checking. What we will do is establish a baseline, do the work that is within our control, and show you what moved.
How we work
- Baseline. Where you currently appear for the searches that matter, from the areas that matter. Without this there is no honest before-and-after.
- Fix the profile. Usually the fastest visible improvement, and often free to correct.
- Fix the site. Relevance, speed and structure, so the profile has something credible behind it.
- Build slowly. Real pages for real services, added at a pace where each one is worth reading.
- Report plainly. Calls, form submissions, and visibility — in a monthly note you can read in two minutes.
Questions we get asked
Why am I not showing up on Google Maps?
Usually an incomplete or miscategorised profile, distance from the searcher, thin or stale reviews, or a site that never plainly states the service and area. Proximity you cannot change — which is exactly why the rest deserves attention.
How long does local SEO take?
Profile corrections can surface within days. On-page and technical work usually takes weeks to be reflected. Competitive commercial terms take months and depend on your market. Any fixed date is a guess.
Do I still need a website?
You can rank in the map pack without one, but you will convert worse and generally rank below competitors who have one. The site is where you demonstrate you do the specific job that was searched for.
Can you guarantee first page?
No. Nobody can. Rankings depend on competition, proximity, reviews and Google's ongoing changes. We improve what is controllable and show you the difference.
Is local SEO worth it for a small business?
It depends on whether people search for what you sell. A roofer or an HVAC company has strong, frequent commercial search demand. A business whose customers come entirely by referral may get more from a better site and a review habit than from ranking work. The audit will tell you which you are, and we would rather say so than sell you a retainer.
